Sometimes you read a book that just blows you away...for multiple reasons. That's exactly how it was with Necessary Risk for me. I adored this one. Everything about it. From the sexy hero, to the mysterious plot, and the heroine who holds her own, but wasn't afraid to ask for help at the same time. This is one book I won't soon forget.

This is the story of Sierra, a girl who wants nothing more than to help with a cause that's near and dear to her heart, even when it puts her life in danger. Yet when things prove to be too much for her she contacts Sean, the hottie-mc-hottie she met after a chance encounter. Flash forward a bit and Sierra hires Sean and his crew to help protect her as she pushes through with her job that brings about danger at every turn. Yet the danger isn't the only thing causing the turmoil in Sierra's life. It's the very body guard who has vowed to protect her no matter the cost. And by protecting her, he not only means her life, but her heart too. And that means absolutely no intermingling with one another on a sexual level.

But, that's not exactly easy when you've got chemistry like Sierra and Sean do.

I won't tell you what happens, but I will say this is one story you don't want to miss.

With a fantastic, well rounded group of characters and absolutely amazing side characters, Necessary Risk is one debut you won't soon forget. Sexiness that heated every page it graced, a poetic prose that also kept a suspenseful undertone at the same time, Tara's got some mad writing skills that I admire from a writing and reading standpoint. I loved this book and no matter how many books I've read in between, I can't get it out of my head. So grab this book, read it, love on Sean like I did. You won't regret it. Trust me.

Great read!!!
Hot body guard. Witty banter. Smoking hot sex. I loved this one so much, I ended up buying two copies. One for me and one to give to a friend. Perfect for fans of Victoria Dahl.
A remarkable debut from Tara Wyatt. This book is endlessly swoony, with an intricate and engaging plot and characters that are both relatable and lovable.
Sierra is a strong, smart, brave main character, and Sean is the kindest, loveliest hero I have read in a long time.
And they have chemistry like whoa. LIKE WHOA, folks. I'll never look at conference rooms the same way (full disclosure I never look at conference rooms at all).

I can't wait to read more in this series, and more from Tara Wyatt in general!
This was a very nice story and I liked the characters. This writer has a lot of potential. I enjoyed the background about "Choices" - the pro choice women's health organization that our heroine supports. The love between the characters seemed real and was very sweet.
This was a good reading. Mostly for adults. It shows the human sides of people. It could have happened and for fiction.. I see that as a compliment. Too often these types of books are just fantasy and the human nature part gets lost. I believe the author truly tried to be realistic in this story about what might happen in this scenario of body guard and falling in love with who he protects and her falling in love with him.
The tension between Sierra and Sean is so well-developed and believable. Tara Wyatt never resorts to cheesy clichés or arguments between Sean and Sierra, just for the sake of tension. Instead, Sean is protective of Sierra from the minute he meets her and never wants to hurt her. And even though he shouldn't be falling for his client, especially with his mistakes in the past, he knows he's not going to be able to stop himself.

With humor and amazing grace, Tara develops the story of Sierra and Sean into a love that is un-put-down-able. Can't wait to read the rest of the series!
Tara Wyatt's debut novel delivers everything you could ever want from romantic suspense a strong heroine, a capable and protective hero, and a plot that just won't quit. Sierra is the spokeswoman for a "Planned Parenthood" type organization, and she hires (super-mega-hot) bodyguard Sean Owens after receiving numerous threats on her life. One would think NECESSARY RISK would easily fall into a damsel-in-distress sort of narrative, but Wyatt refuses to make Sierra into a weakling. Sierra is brave, bold, and refuses to back down from a cause she truly believes in. Sean is an ideal alpha male, but beyond just following Sierra around and beating up baddies, we come to see him as intelligent, caring, and ambitious. As I said before, the plot is pacey and kept me turning the pages during a very long flight over the Pacific. The bodyguard trope is not usually my favorite, but I found Wyatt's take to be refreshing, feminist, romantic, and compelling. Oh, and did I mention to hot sex. Yo. Wyatt can write sex. Against the wall...over the couch...in the shower...okay, you just need to read it for yourself. I highly recommend it!
