I thought the first book of this series was good, but this one is even better. I love reading about what's happening in both time periods. I feel like I'm right there with them in both era's. Characters are very well portrayed. I highly recommend this series.

The prepress ion of this story is interesting. I wish the author would stop the dual timelines. I think that Brian and Amy deserve there own book. At times it gets confusing and I'm wishing to read more on Janet and Marro. Overall I really like it.
Well I hope this is posted since I can't see the first review. I'm really enjoying this series. Talk about intense, emotional, intriguing characters wow!!
I got this from the lending library, alas I'm not waiting till September to finish it. So yes I'm buying the last one.

I was angry with what happened to some of the characters, the author really knows how to keep you involved.
Don't let the cover fool you, it well crafted.
I totally devoured this book in about 5-6 hours. Lower than the estimate but pretty fast for me. I really enjoyed the second book a lot though I have to admit reading the mode r n day scenes faster than the prehistoric ones. I just don't really care what's going on with Brian and Amy too much except...

When it comes to scenes in the caves or learning about what the government is doing. I mean I'm glad they got together but I'm just more invested in whats happening to those who got sent back in time and how they are doing. To me it's their story although we need to know what's going on in the future to enlighten us about the story from the past. But... I guess what I'm saying is I'm glad those scenes are shorter.
Well I'm off to book three now! Looking forward to more twist and turns. I will definitely be a reader of this author in the future. Happy reading!

Janet is stuck in the past during the Clovis era in North America, with fellow time travelers, Phil, Claire and Martha. Janet is Gundre’s mate and step-mother to Punda. Claire is Matta’s mate & is currently pregnant. Martha, in her mid-40s is the oldest living person that any of the tribe’s people have ever seen. The tribe is travelling to Chief Marro’s Three Rivers tribe, a much larger tribe than theirs, in search of mates for Phil and Martha.

When they arrive, they are looked at as somewhat of a novelty because of their skin color but also worthless because of their lack of abilities. But Janet catches the eye of Chief Marro, and in these tribes, if the chief wants a woman, it doesn’t matter if she has a mate or not, it is the chief’s right to take what he wants. Janet is pulled by attraction to the chief, but she loves her family and doesn’t want to be forced to give them up.

When Janet & the tribe get to Three Rivers, they come to realize that the large tribe lives at the base of a smoking volcano. The tribes don’t realize the danger that they are in and won’t listen to the advice that Janet gives. Janet, Phil, Martha & Claire talk about things that happen that signal the volcano may be nearing eruption.

Back in the present day, Janet’s fiancé, Brian, has come to terms with her disappearance and has started a different path in life. He no longer lives in the city, but on his ranch in Colorado. He still wants Amy, the anthropologist who discovered Janet’s message in a cave, to move with him to Colorado. Amy is still a working professor at a college and doing archaeological digs. But she misses Brian every day that they are apart and has come to rely on text messages and phone calls to get her through the loneliness.

There are ups and downs, but the white people have worked hard at adapting to their new surroundings and the Clovis culture. There is one more book after this one.
Couldn't put it down and immediately purchased book 3
I'm buying the 3rd book. An easy ,quick read. I wish it was more erotic but the stories good Ill read the entire series I'm sure
