Wow! Where do I start with this review–First off, this is my first book by Mary. She created a world that I believe! And, two characters that I could see in the real world. (Not to bring in my personal life, but, I’ve known crooks. Mary matched them perfectly!) Low rocked me; shock me to the core! I was hooked from the synopsis! Seriously!

First we have Lowen; he’s lost. Life has thrashed him around his whole life. Doing the only thing he knows how to do: he fights. He fights for freedom, for love. He fights for all the right things, and I think that’s what makes him such a great and believable character!

Posey; She’s the definition of ride-or-die! There is so much I want to say about Poe but, I don’t wanna give anything away. I love how strong she is, she is there 150% for Low, in true ride-or-die fashion.

As I said… this book rocked me. I cried throughout, I felt for Lowen and Posey. I was right there with them through it all! I loved the world that Mary twisted. For once, you have a book with the perfect coupling, the perfect plot and the best combo of sex and violence to make it all blend together perfectly.

Low will go on my list of top favorite reads. Thank you, Mary, for giving me the chance to read it! <3

Low was such an extraordinary read. I don't think that I have read anything like it. From the the first page to the last I was hooked.

Lowen and Poesy were the perfect couple. The love and commitment they shared was amazing. Poesy was loyal to Lowen and wasn't planning on going anywhere. She remained by his side even after all the bad choices he had made.

Once the struggles became too much for Lowen and Poesy they decide there is no other way out. They are trying to keep up with the bills and have food to eat and can't seem to catch a break.

I'm usually one who thinks that you have to work hard to get what you want, but while reading Low I was rooting for criminals, and somehow I found myself cheering for them and I was hoping that they would remain safe. It was something I couldn't help doing because even though they were breaking the law deep down they had a heart and always thought of their actions and how they affected others.

Overall, this was a great read and my heart was racing throughout hoping that they would remain safe. This is definitely a book that will keep you interested.

5 Ride or Die Stars*****

Lowen Seely is fresh out of prison after serving some time for a small robbery he committed. One that left the owner with some injuries. As soon as he is out the doors, he is met with Poesy Ashby. Poesy has been by Lowen's side for a long time. Her love for him has her giving up a decent life to live a life of poverty and soon one filled with crimes. This is not your typical love story. Their love takes you on a journey that has you questioning just how far would you go to survive with the one you love.

This is my first book by Mary Elizabeth and I am just in love with her writing. It is just beautiful and flows so well. Her story of Lowen and Poesy is one I will never forget. Lowen is so much more than a criminal. He will stop at nothing to make sure his girl is taken care of. And Poesy is definitely what the blurb describes as the definition of ride or die. It doesn't matter what Lowen does or will do she is there by his side every step of the way. This one is most definitely going on my list of favorites of 2016!!!
It actually felt so real I had to take breaks.... It was strange, it was like I was genuinely concerned for the characters and could see the bad choices and the looming consequences of their actions.
It was a very different reading experience. What did I like? I had no idea what was going to happen the whole way through. Often the writing was on the wall, but then, from nowhere a curve ball. I loved that the story most definitely did not follow the typical cookie cutter code.
I found the constant disaster unsettling to read. Not sure why but as good as the writing is, I was actually checking to see when it would all end. Which would suggest I didn't enjoy it. But the writing was so damn good and the story was so good. I do love feeling like it could be real, really putting yourself there.
I would have really loved to read about their initial interactions and how they came about being together...I think this author would have delivered that well.
I am excited to discover such a fresh Author and will now see what else she has on offer!

What an interesting and different kind of love story. Criminals need love too.

Low is a criminal. Not because he wants to be but because life hasn't really given him another choice. Falling in love with Poesy wasn't his plan either but now they're intertwined in every way. Together they build a life from any of the scraps they can pull together. And when the final scrap gives way, Low and Poesy make a plan. Rob a bank so they can get by. But one time isn't enough because as hard as they try, there's never enough. And once they start, it's hard to stop. But at least they're together.

This was my second Mary Elizabeth novel and I'm seriously in love with her. Her characters are so different but yet real and their struggles, however different from mine, make me emphatic and unable not to root for them. I can't wait to dive back into her backlist and see what other characters I can fall in love with.
